At their 20-week ultrasound, Sylvia and her husband received difficult news: their baby, Regina, had Down syndrome and a heart problem. The doctor suggested abortion, but Sylvia’s husband stood firm, saying, “Abortion is not an option for us.” With those words, their journey began—a journey of trust in God’s plan. At just five months old, she had heart surgery. The doctor, amazed at her progress, said, “She’s missing some muscles in her heart, but I repaired it as if they were there, and her heart started working beautifully.”
Regina is the youngest of five siblings, and her family’s love surrounds her every step of the way. Today, Sylvia’s story reminds us all that in every life, no matter the challenges, we can see the hand of God. May this story inspire you to embrace the beauty and dignity of every soul.
